GAE
Genicular artery embolization
A nonsurgical, catheter-based treatment for persistent knee osteoarthritis pain.
GAE targets the small arteries supplying inflamed tissue lining the joint in knee osteoarthritis. In clinical studies, about 70% of patients report meaningful pain relief lasting 1 to 3 years.
Dr. Baheti is one of the most experienced GAE physicians in Washington State, with more than 150 procedures performed since January 2026.
UFE
Uterine fibroid embolization
A uterus-sparing treatment for symptomatic fibroids and adenomyosis.
Uterine artery embolization reduces blood supply to fibroids or adenomyosis and may improve heavy bleeding, pelvic pain and bulk-related symptoms. Patients go home within a few hours.
PAE
Prostate artery embolization
Image-guided treatment for urinary symptoms from an enlarged prostate (BPH), including nocturia, urinary frequency and urgency, and catheter dependence.
PAE reduces blood supply to the enlarged prostate, shrinking it to ease urinary symptoms without surgery through the urethra.
PVE
Pelvic venous disease
Treatment for pelvic venous disorders (formerly called pelvic congestion syndrome), including pelvic and vulvar varicose veins.
Embolization closes the faulty pelvic veins behind chronic pelvic pain, heaviness and visible varicose veins. For May-Thurner syndrome, where a compressed iliac vein backs up blood flow, a vein stent restores normal flow.
HAE
Hemorrhoid embolization
A minimally invasive option for symptomatic internal hemorrhoids, particularly bleeding.
Hemorrhoid embolization reduces blood flow to the hemorrhoids, with no large incisions or banding, and minimal downtime.
VEIN CARE
Varicose vein treatment
Personalized evaluation and minimally invasive care for symptomatic varicose veins and superficial venous reflux.
Depending on ultrasound findings and clinical needs, treatment may include endovenous thermal ablation, ultrasound-guided foam sclerotherapy, or ambulatory phlebectomy.

Hip osteoarthritis embolization
Targeted embolization for persistent hip osteoarthritis pain.
Hip embolization is a newer application of the same technique used for the knee, with a growing body of clinical research.
TROCHANTERIC BURSITIS
Trochanteric bursitis
Embolization for persistent pain on the outside of the hip, including trochanteric bursitis and greater trochanteric pain syndrome.
Embolization is a newer option for this condition, using the same approach as for knee and hip arthritis.
FOOT
Plantar fasciitis embolization
A newer catheter-based option for persistent plantar heel pain that has not responded to appropriate conservative care.
Research on this approach is growing.
SHOULDER
Adhesive capsulitis (frozen shoulder)
Shoulder artery embolization is a newer option for persistent pain and stiffness from adhesive capsulitis.
It can work alongside physical therapy to help restore motion.
OTHER
Additional embolization procedures
Embolization can treat many other conditions.
